Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with twelve other kids. The vivid imagination of her mother helped her escape from the pressures of daily life. Prior to learning how to write or read, she composed herself songs. When she was eight, she bought her first electric guitar. She began singing on the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. In high school she established herself local, but longed for having a bigger stage. In the exact day that she graduated high school, it was 1964. The first charting record she had for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer for his show that was syndicated from the beginning. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after contracting with RCA Records. The band split in 1974 when her solo hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene beat out the collaborations. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their relationship with Wagoner was the one to write"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and had it reach Number. It was the first time a song reached No.
