Emily Bett Rickards was born in July 1991. She is a Canadian actress best known for her role as Felicity on the CW's television show Arrow. Rickards is an British Columbia native. Starting her professional path at a young age, she introduced herself to musical theatre and dance, with the hope of later introducing herself to more serious acting. When she graduated early from high school and attending Vancouver Film School and completed the Acting Essentials course. Once she was done with the program and auditioned, she attended an audition for open casting and was accepted. She studied at her school, the Alida Vocal Studio in Vancouver. Originally, she was signed as a one-episode guest star, her chemistry with the show's main character Stephen Amell coupled with positive reactions from fans as well as her humorous quips resulted in her being first signed as a co-star on recurring basis for the rest of the first season, and then as a regular character in the following season.
